About the Switch Series
David Avellan wasn't always a believer in the Switch — in fact, he was a victim of it well before he learned it, getting switched as a high-school wrestler at Killian High School. He only picked it up after his amateur career, training MMA. Two things made him a Switcher: watching BJ Penn defend takedowns off the fence with a series of switches, and realizing how tightly the Switch ties into his world-famous Kimura Trap System — whenever you're switching you can Kimura, and whenever a Kimura is defended you can switch.
The Switch Series is the result: 14 techniques that turn the basic wrestling reversal into a complete bottom-escape, sweep, and submission game for BJJ and MMA — taught the way he teaches it to every fighter at his academy.
